DIRECTOR’S WELCOME
Under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UoS), the Institute of Leadership in Higher Education (ILHE) at the University of Sharjah was established in 2013. Inspired by His Highness's vision to create a hub for excellence in higher education, teaching, and research in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the region, the ILHE offers training courses and workshops in educational leadership within the UoS and beyond.
Through various training courses and workshops, graduate programs, and external collaborations, the ILHE is one of the research and development engines within the University of Sharjah. Collaboration with national and international institutions is a vital component of our mandate. Therefore, the ILHE welcomes any proposals in this regard.
The core of our mission is to establish mechanisms to fulfill excellence in higher education and maintain the University of Sharjah's leadership position in the region. We have developed a master’s program in Leadership in Higher Education, which is designed for leaders in higher education across all disciplines with the overarching goal of preparing the next generation of professional leaders in the areas of higher education and the corresponding research.
The missions and mandates of the ILHE are tailored to provide world-class services within its respective scope. Through a series of workshops, events, and activities, the ILHE offers high-tech, state-of-the-art training in the science, skills, and tools of education and leadership. Every year, hundreds of UoS employees benefit from these cost-free training courses throughout the year.
We invite you to visit our institute, tour the campus in person, and observe first-hand all that it has to offer. Moreover, we welcome any international and national collaboration proposals.
