We All Read Festival
Dr. Salama Al-Ruhumi, Dean of Student Affairs, along with Mr. Rashid Al-Khous, Executive Director of the Emirates Publishers Association, Dr. Eid Kanaan, Dean of Student Affairs, and several members of the teaching and administrative staff, as well as students, inaugurated the ninth Reading Festival "We All Read." This annual event, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs, features a variety of cultural and literary activities, including literary seminars aimed at encouraging and instilling the value of reading among students, recognizing its significant impact on self-development, thinking, and personal growth.
This year’s festival includes a book fair in collaboration with Manasa, a subsidiary of the Emirates Publishers Association, Al-Qasimi Publications, Kalimat Group, House of Books, and Dar Malhoun. The fair features over 30 participating publishers with a wide range of publications. The festival also includes literary lectures, interactive competitions, and the announcement of the winner of the "Reading Star" title for its seventh edition. The judging panel, which included Dr. Mariam Al-Baljeed, Dr. Badia Al-Hashimi, and Dr. Layla Al-Ubidi from the Arabic Language Department, awarded the title to student Bayan Mohamed Naqla for the year 2024.
During the opening ceremony, guests toured the book fair, and publishers and participating faculty members were honored. The festival will continue with various events and activities, including lectures by faculty members from the College of Arts and Humanities. Topics will include "The Life of Writing," "Read and Enjoy," "Reading: Paper Books vs. E-books," and "The Impact of Tajweed Rules on Correct Reading." The festival also features a range of cultural and interactive activities organized by the Student Activities Department throughout its duration.
