MSCLHPE 2023-24: Module 3: Learner Assessment in Healthcare
The third module of MSc LHPE took place from November 10 till 12, 2023. This module was led by a team of esteemed educators, including Dr Mohamed Hassan Taha, Dr Charlotte Rhode, Dr Paul Du Toit, Prof. Nabil Sulaiman, Dr Emad Nosair and Dr Amal Hussein.
This module focused on the important place assessment plays in driving learning in health professional education. Assessment principles, methods and practices and their compatibility with learning outcomes which promote learning as well as aspects such as reliability, validity; feasibility; standard setting and examiner training will be explored. Constructing assessment and assessing competence using tools such as written tests, clinical performance assessments and reflection will be examined.
