Translation Centre
The Center for Translation aims to contribute to the university’s efforts to achieve its wider goals. It also aims to achieve excellence in research in the field of translation while providing outstanding service to the community. The center aims to offer translation, spontaneous interpretation, training and consultation services to the community both in the UAE and in the region.
OVERVIEW & MISSION:
The Translation Center is dedicated to providing exceptional translation, interpretation, and consultation services. We support researchers, university students, academic entities, writers, businesses, and individuals both domestically and internationally as part of our commitment to promoting cross-cultural communication and excellence in academic research.
The Translation Center strives to contribute to the broader vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi for the University of Sharjah to become a platform for excellence in research and intercultural exchange.
At the heart of our mission lies His Highness's firm belief in the pivotal role that sciences play in fostering enduring cross-cultural communication. Guided by this idea, we are devoted to making the accomplishments of Arab and Muslim scholars accessible to diverse nations in their native languages, promoting a global exchange of knowledge and ideas.
OBJECTIVES & SERVICES:
- Translate research papers from Arabic into English or vice versa.
- Offer translation, spontaneous/consecutive interpretation, and language consultation services to the local and international communities.
- Support all University of Sharjah entities achieve the common goal of promoting it as a center of excellence in scientific research and education.
- Establish firm cooperative relations with similar centers overseas to exchange expertise and skills.
- Translate selected works of Arab scholars into other languages.
- Translate quality publications into Arabic.

- Faculty at the University of Sharjah, especially those seeking to translate their research papers and other publications into English.
- International research centers, departments of Middle Eastern Studies, and academicians interested in the Arab Muslim Civilization.
- National and regional government agencies.
- The private sector including marketing and advertising agencies, banks, insurance companies, accountants, and legal firms.
- International and regional organizations.
- Individuals interested in acquiring and improving their translation and interpretation skills.
