The Foreign Language Center at the University of Sharjah is a pioneering center dedicated to spreading knowledge of multiple languages and promoting excellence in foreign language education at the local and regional levels. As a leading institution in the UAE, our center stands at the forefront of language education, striving to create a dynamic and immersive language learning environment that inspires students to embrace linguistic diversity and broaden their horizons. We offer a wide array of language courses, ranging from European languages such as French, Spanish, and German, to Asiatic languages such as Urdu, Chinese, and Japanese, each providing unique insights into different cultures and regions.

To ensure the highest quality of language education, we have established partnerships and collaborations with renowned institutions and organizations both locally and internationally. These collaborations enable us to offer a diverse range of language programs and cultural initiatives, allowing students to immerse themselves in authentic language and cultural contexts.

OVERVIEW AND MISSION:

To spread knowledge of multiple languages through a center specializing in foreign languages at the University of Sharjah, and making it one of the pioneering centers in the UAE in the field of foreign language education at the local and regional levels.

OBJECTIVES AND SERVICES:

The Center aims to:

• Provide an excellent level of foreign language education for different target groups, such as university students, employees and interested local and regional community members.
• Provide courses in some foreign languages for special purposes to meet the needs of specific departments and colleges at the University.
• Offer courses and modules in French, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese and other important foreign languages.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

In order to achieve the University's mission of serving the local community and meeting its needs, the Center seeks to provide its services to a wide range of beneficiaries as follows:

1. Students of University of Sharjah who wish to learn a foreign language
2. Students of majors that require learning a foreign language
3. Staff at the University of Sharjah
4. Employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassies, and the diplomatic corps in general
5. Employees of private and public sector institutions
6. Postgraduate students whose studies require knowledge of a foreign language for research purposes
7. Media professionals
8. Translators
9. Staff at hotels and other tourist facilities in the country
10. Employees in different media institutions
11. Tourist guides

RESOURCES & FACILITIES:

The Foreign Language Center has state-of-the-art facilities that enhance the delivery of its services, such as laboratories, libraries, independent learning centers.
