Medical Library:
Beyond Books; A Revamped Medical Library Journey
To accommodate the substantial increase in the student admissions to the medical colleges and to enhance the facilities at the medical campus, a comprehensive interior fit-out of the existing medical library building is currently underway. This project includes a major preplanning and design of the library space towards spatial efficiency, addition of group and individual study functions, integration of different seating options, multi-media room, washrooms, prayer rooms, and improvement of the students' experience. The new library design is set to significantly expand its capacity from 300 to 800, thereby accommodating the growing needs of the students and fostering an enriched learning environment. Completed in February 2024.
Development of Kalba University
Kalba Empowerment: Transforming Education, Building Futures
The University of Sharjah prioritized the transformation of Kalba University into an independent entity to enhance educational services for the local community in Kalba city. Completed in 2023, the extension expands academic and administrative facilities.
New center for the Francophonie
Bridge of Knowledge: Uniting Legal Minds Across Border
A new space allocated for the Francophonie center, aiming to foster scientific and research collaboration between institutions in the Arab world and those affiliated with the French International Institute for Laws with a French Character. This involves exchanging academic and research experiences, coordinating scientific efforts, and organizing international conferences and seminars focused on legal studies and jurisprudence. The new facility provides a library, multi-purpose room, Director and admin office, meeting space, and a waiting area.
New Prefab Structures at the Medical campus- Lecture Hall (M27A & M23B)
To accommodate the significant increase in the student admissions to the medical colleges, the need for three new buildings arose, which are under construction. One building will be the Problem-based-learning (M27B), while the other two are lecture halls (M27A and M23B).
The new prefab structures (M27A and M23B) – that are completed- consist of one story, accommodating one large lecture hall and amenities services for each.
