We All Read Festival

Under the presence of Dr. Salama Al-Rahoumi, Dean of Student Affairs, and the opening by Dr. Eid Rashid Al-Koos, Executive Director of the Emirates Publishers Association, along with Kanaan, Dean of Student Affairs, and several members of the teaching and administrative staff, the ninth annual festival "We All Read" was launched, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs. The festival includes a variety of cultural and literary activities, alongside literary seminars aimed at encouraging and instilling the value of reading among female students, recognizing its significant impact on personal development and character building.

This year's festival features a book fair in collaboration with the House of Books and the Kalimat Group, along with participation from more than 30 publishing houses, including Al-Qasimi Publishing and Inspiring Publishers. The fair also includes interactive competitions and literary lectures. During the opening ceremony, the winner of the "Reading Star" title was announced, based on a judgment by a specialized committee comprising Dr. Mariam Al-Baljeed, Dr. Badi'a Al-Hashimi, and Dr. Leila Al-Abidi from the Arabic Language Department. Student Bayan Mohammed Naqla was awarded the title of Reading Star for the year 2024.

Additionally, during the opening ceremony, guests were taken on a tour of the book fair, and publishing houses and participating faculty members were honored. The festival will continue to offer various activities, including lectures by faculty members from the College of Arts and Humanities, with topics such as "The Joy of Reading," "Reading Between Print and Digital Books," and "The Impact of Tajweed Rules on Proper Reading." The festival will feature a range of competitions and cultural activities over its duration.
