First Aid at Work, Including CPR and AED Training Workshop
The Central Laboratories Directorate orchestrated a comprehensive training session entitled "Fire Aid at Work, Including CPR and AED Training " to train lab staff with essential life-saving skills and knowledge. This initiative was conducted as part of the implementation requirement of ISO 45001:2018 in central labs, reflecting the Directorate's commitment to ensuring workplace safety for faculty, lab staff, and students and to enhancing the preparedness and safety measures within the UoS teaching and research laboratories by equipping staff members with essential life-saving skills. The training covered crucial aspects such as fire aid techniques, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and the operation of automated external defibrillators(AEDs).
Certified external First Aid trainers organized this workshop. During the workshop, all the participants experienced hands-on training, i.e., how to perform CPR, how to use the AED machine, and how to handle medical emergencies in their laboratories. Certificates have been issued to all attendees.
