Human Patterns in the Emirate of Sharjah

Introduction:

This study employs quantitative research methods to describe, explain, and identify the reasons behind the rise in divorce cases within the first five years of marriage from the perspectives of divorced individuals in the Emirate of Sharjah. It also examines the general causes of divorce as perceived by society. By conducting a multifaceted analysis of the targeted sample and the broader community, the study aims to provide indicators that explain this social phenomenon from a deep-rooted perspective.

Aims of the Study:

The study addresses a fundamental societal issue that threatens family cohesion and has long-term effects. Specifically, it investigates the reasons behind the increase in divorce cases within the first five years of marriage from the viewpoints of divorced individuals in Sharjah and examines the impact of technology on divorce. The aim is to obtain analytical numerical indicators that elucidate the causes of divorce and family disintegration in Sharjah, monitor and categorize them, and formulate policies and recommendations for stakeholders to support Emirati families in Sharjah. The findings aim to inform the development of appropriate programs aligned with the intervention points highlighted by the research results to bring about the necessary changes for the benefit of families and society.

Scope of the Study:

  1. Identifying and gathering demographic data of the target sample
  2. Childhood characteristics of the target group
  3. Quality of life (pre-marriage) within the families of the target sample
  4. Quality of life (pre-marriage) outside the families of the target sample
  5. Quality of life during the marriage that ended in divorce within the families of the target sample
  6. Quality of life during the marriage that ended in divorce outside the families of the target sample
  7. Causes of divorce within the five key areas for the target sample and society

Main Causes of Divorce:

  1. Family (Social) Factors: - Investigating social dynamics and familial interactions contributing to divorce.
  2. Cultural Factors: - Examining cultural beliefs and practices that influence marital stability.
  3. Economic Factors: - Analysing the financial pressures and economic conditions that lead to marital breakdowns.
  4. Psychological Factors: - Exploring psychological issues and mental health aspects affecting marriages.
  5. Health Factors: - Assessing the impact of physical health and medical issues on marital relationships.
