UoS Students Participate in “The Emirati Future Leadership Camp” in Malaysia
In line with the University of Sharjah’s (UoS) commitment to supporting and empowering outstanding Emirati students, and activating their roles across various sectors, the Institute of Leadership in Higher Education (ILHE) at the University hosted “The Emirati Future Leadership Camp” program for UoS Emirati students in collaboration with the University of Malaya in Malaysia over one week. The camp was hosted as part of the University’s Emirati Future Leadership Initiative (EFLI), which has achieved remarkable success for the third consecutive year. It aims to support young talents at the University, aligning with the future directions and visions of the UAE.
The camp featured various activities, meetings and sessions led by experts and trainers, covering diverse topics, including governance, transformative leadership, and future foresight. Additionally, field visits were organized to governmental institutions, companies, and universities relevant to future foresight and leadership training. The visited institutions included the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Razak School of Government (RSOG), and the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT).His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, emphasized the University’s dedication to enhancing students’ leadership skills, building their professional capabilities, and providing them with the necessary tools required for the job market. The Chancellor highlighted the significance of the camp in developing leadership skills of UAE youth, providing an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience by delving into various leadership experiences and innovative projects that serve the UAE community.
