UoS Researchers Win Khalifa Award for Education
The 17th Khalifa Award for education 2024, honored two winners from the University of Sharjah (UoS). Prof. Ali Ahmad Al-Barakat from the Department of Education, College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) at the University of Sharjah, won the educational research award, whereas, Prof. Mohammad Ali Abdelkareem from the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering Department, College of Engineering, won the Distinguished University Lecturer Award at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) level.Prof. Ali Ahmad Al-Barakat recognized for his scentific research, which aimed at investgating the role of parenting in preparing an environmentally conscious generation that is aware of green learning concepts and practices, and are capable of forming their own principles and vision to face environmental challenges, achieving current and future sociatal amibitons for environmental conservation and sustainability. Prof. Ali presented the results of his study by showcasing the optimal parental model inspired by the Emirate of Sharjah, which featured various parental patterns in raising an enviromentally consious child and involving them in eco-fieriendly practices.
Prof. Mohammad Ali Abdelkareem won the Distinguished University Lecturer Award, which is granted to outstanding faculty members based on several critira including teaching, scientific research, university and community service, education and sustainable environment. His research focused on the development of green energy resources, fuel cell systems, their applications in transportation, and water treatment. Additionally, he focused on integrating research into teaching,ensuring that students are acquainted with the latest technologies used in green energy and fuel cells.
