UoS Delegation Visits a Number of German Universities and Academic Institutes
A delegation from the University of Sharjah (UoS) visited a number of German universities and academic institutes, with the aim of promoting joint cooperation in training UoS’s medical students in research field, exchanging students, academic expertise and internship.The delegation was headed by Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah along with Prof. Qutayba Hamid, Vice Chancellor for Medical Colleges and Health Sciences and Dean of College of Medicine.
At the beginning of the tour, the delegation visited the Academic Hospital Amalie Siveking affiliated with the University of Hamburg in Germany , where they met Dr. Ernst Von Dobschuetz, Director of the Hospital, Professor at the German university and Dr. Christoph Weber, Director of the Radiology Department, who are both visiting professors of the UoS, in the presence of Dr. Nicolas, Advisor of the hospital and Organizer of the Relations between both universities.
During the visit, the delegation also discussed the plan to increase the number of interns trained in surgery and internal medicine, as well as reviewed the schedule of lectures which will be delivered by faculty members of Hamburg University for UoS’s medical students, while the radiology department at the German University Hospital agreed on training UoS’s radiology students from the College of Medical Sciences.
In addition, the UoS’s delegation visited the Academic Hospital Reinbek to discuss ways of joint cooperation, conduct cancer research, train students in cancer surgery and exchange researchers. While during their visit to the Hospital of Winsen Luhe and the Academic Hospital Luenebuerg, they discussed the mechanism of training postgraduate students and UoS’s doctors by Specialists in nursing and Physiotherapy, who expressed their willingness to cooperate in various fields of research and training.
