UoS Celebrates Graduation of Enrollees in Professional Diplomas
In the presence of His Excellency, Ali Mehd Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) and His Excellency, Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UoS), the UoS with a number of governmental entities have celebrated the graduation of enrollees in four professional diploma programs, which were developed by the Sharjah Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development at the UoS including: the “Professional Diploma in Child Protection" and the training program “My Life is My Health" by the Social Services Department, in addition to the “Professional Diploma for Parliamentary Skills for the Arab Child" and the “Professional Diploma in Real Estate Registration".The graduation ceremony was attended by His Excellency, Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Shamsi, Director-General of the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, His Excellency, Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Mail, Director of the Social Services Department, Prof. Radi Al Zubaidi, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development.
The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, thereafter, His Excellency the Chancellor of the UoS delivered a speech in which he stressed the role of the university in building the scientific standards of human, which contributes in building a civilized renaissance of the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE. The Chancellor also pointed out that with the support of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, the UoS has joined the list of the best (251-300) universities globally, climbing more than 150 positions from the 2021 rankings, according to the latest results of the Times Higher Education, and is ranked 7th in the Arab region based on Times Higher Education Arab University Ranking. The Chancellor added that the University, its colleges, institutes and centers focuses on providing individuals with the knowledge and honing their skills to effectively contribute to the development of the nation and the society.
For his part, Prof. Radi Al Zubaidi, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development, said in his speech “Today we celebrate the graduation of a new constellation who are stepping forward into life after being equipped with all the fundamental knowledge and sciences in order to combat practical life necessities within the University of Sharjah's environment, whose message is based on excellence and distinction in all that it provides to its students for the job market, pointing that these programs and professional diplomas has fulfilled its scientific, cultural and occupational goals for each student, who have acquired the credit hours during the executive period under the supervision of competent constellation of professors and faculty members within and outside of the UoS.
During the ceremony, the sixth batch of the Professional Diploma for Child Protection including 15 participants have been honored and were handed over the certificates. The program aimed at providing participants with the knowledge and skills concerned with different aspects of child protection, as well as honoring participants of the training program “My Health is My Life" aimed at promoting societal awareness among local senior citizens and equipping them with the skills needed to achieve psychological stability. The program included 22 participants with a total of 16 training hours.
In addition to honoring members of the APC professional diploma, which lasted for three months with a total of 100 training hours for trainees representing 17 Arab country including nine Emirati children . The APC program aimed at promoting parliamentary and 21st Century Skills including the art of diction, leadership and communication skills as well as artificial intelligence applications. Besides the Professional Diploma in Real Estate Registration which addressed skills of real estate brokers, as well as real estate marketing and investment. The program in its 21th edition included 18 participants with a total of 64 training hours.
