University of Sharjah Signs MoU with Sharjah International Marine Sports Club
In line with the University of Sharjah's (UoS) commitment to enhancing mutual cooperation with various local entities and institutions and leveraging the expertise of its highly qualified personnel in research and sciences, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the University of Sharjah and the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club. The signing ceremony took place in the presence His Excellency Eisa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council.The MoU aims to foster collaboration in designing and manufacturing various boats and improving the mechanical and electrical efficiency of engines using clean energy, with the participation of professors, experts, and students from the engineering departments. The MoU was signed by Dr. Salah Taher, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs at UoS, and His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club.His Excellency Eisa Hilal AL Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, expressed his happiness with this cooperation, which will bring mutual benefit to both sides and contribute to achieving the objectives of the agreement, including the development of sports services, activities and equipment’s used by the Club.
Dr. Salah Taher, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, emphasized the University’s commitment to partnering with various local institutions, including sports clubs, pointing out that the University of Sharjah, as part of its community role, will harness its scientific and research capabilities to support these entities.His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, emphasized the significance of such agreements in line with the Club’s strategy to establish partnerships with local and international academic institutions, such as University of Sharjah, an esteemed academic institution with qualified cadres in the maritime sector. This presents a great opportunity for the Club to advance in designing, developing, and manufacturing boats, engines and their structures using clean energy.The MoU stipulates cooperation in conducting specialized research and studies, providing technical consultations in boat design and manufacturing by the University’s faculty members and researchers, offering a great opportunity for UoS’s college of Fine Arts and Design to participate with their innovative boat interior design projects, and designing shields and souvenirs for the Club.
