Under the Title "eARTH: A Better Place" Opening of the Art Exhibition at the College of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Sharjah
His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, and Her Excellency Dr. Muhadditha AlHashimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Private Education Authority and Member of the University of Sharjah Board of Trustees, inaugurated the art exhibition EARTH: A Better Place showcasing drawings of students of private schools in the Emirate of Sharjah, organized by the College of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Sharjah. Prof. Nadia M. AlHasni, Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Design, attended the inauguration along with faculty and staff members and a large number of principals, delegates and students of the participating schools. The Exhibition included a variety of drawings and artworks through which students presented a set of ideas and drawings for how to conserve the environment, make Earth a better place to live and reside, conserve environmental resources and support a culture of sustainability.
During the ceremony honoring the participants in the Exhibition, Prof. Nadia M. AlHasni welcomed in her speech the attendees at the College of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Sharjah, where she pointed to the important role that the College plays in cooperation with all parties and institutions in the local community in the artistic and creative fields and discovering and encouraging young artistic talents. The Dean of the College also praised the keenness of many schools to participate in this Exhibition with the participation of 18 private schools, as the number of artistic works reached more than 120 works 52 of them were chosen to display in addition to another group of works representing drawings by a number of mathematicians. At the end of the opening ceremony the Chancellor of the University, accompanied by Dr. Muhadditha AlHashimi honored the participating school students and distributed certificates of appreciation to them.
