The University of Sharjah’s Medical Education Center Graduates the Batch of Trainees in the Health Professions Education Certificate Program

The Medical Education Center at the University of Sharjah organized a virtual ceremony to graduate several participants in the training Health Professions Education Certificate program. The program is for faculty members in medical colleges and health sciences, and for doctors supervising practical training for students. This training program aims to develop the knowledge and skills of participants required for the educational process. It includes three levels of training: the basic certificate in health professions education attended by 24 participants, the advanced certificate in health professions education attended by 18 participants, and the Certificate of Excellence in Educational Research and Program Evaluation attended by 11 participants. Prof. Qutayba Hamid, Vice Chancellor for Medical Colleges and Health Sciences and Dean of College of Medicine, attended the ceremony along with Dr. Mohamed Hassan Taha, Director of the Center.

In his speech, Prof. Qutayba Hamid praised the efforts of the Medical Education Center in organizing such training courses that contribute to raising the level of performance and developing the practical skills of participants. He congratulated the graduates for passing these training courses, stressing the University keenness to serve the educational and training process in the field of medical sciences.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Hassan Taha introduced the programs, training courses and certificates offered since the establishment of the Center in 2018. He indicated that it grants three levels of basic and advanced certificates in teaching health professions and a certificate of excellence in research. He added that the Center contributes to training faculty members on modern teaching methods and evaluating new programs in the health fields.
