The University of Sharjah Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain. The MoU aims to achieve a strategic partnership in the field of scientific research. The agreement was signed on behalf of the University of Sharjah by its Chancellor Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, and signed by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, the branch of the Medical University of Bahrain by its President His Excellency Prof. Samir Al Atoum, who headed the visiting delegation, in the presence of Prof. Qutayba Hamid Al Heialy, Vice Chancellor for Medical Colleges and Health Sciences and Dean of College of Medicine, Dr. Amina Al-Marzouqi,Acting Dean of the College of Health Sciences, Prof.Salman Yousuf Guraya Vice Dean College of Medicine, and Dr. Mohamed Al Hassan Acting Director of the Center for Medical Education at the College of Medicine.
The University Chancellor started the meeting by welcoming the delegation of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Medical University of Bahrain branch, then presented a brief on the University of Sharjah in terms of scientific programs that it offers, in addition to research institutes, centers of excellence and the medical complex, the number of students and graduates, which qualified it to be one of the major universities in the UAE. He also welcomed all forms of cooperation with prestigious scientific institutions, and under the agreement the two parties will work to enhance cooperation in the academic, research and clinical aspects through the medical students exchange program at the undergraduate level, and also to enhance cooperation in faculty exchange programs and researchers in the medical field.
