The Chancellor of the University of Sharjah Honors a Number of Promoted Faculty Members

His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, honored 17 recently promoted faculty members. The Board of Trustees of the University approved their promotion to higher academic standings during the recent meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah. This in the presence of Prof. Elsiddig Ahmed ElMustafa El Sheikh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, along with Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies.

During the honoring, the University Chancellor congratulated the faculty members and stressed that their promotion to higher academic degrees is an appreciation of their research activities that strengthened the University's reputation. He then stessed the importance of continuing the research activities and work to increase them in quantity and quality, in addition to showing great interest in the student and the teaching process.

The Chancellor emphasized his confidence in the University's faculty in terms of interest in teaching students as required, noting that the University's progress and it strengthening its position at the regional and global level is the result of teamwork through the cooperation of faculty, administrative, and technical staff members as well as students' participation in the research process.

The promotions included: Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Khidr Suleiman, College of Computing and Informatics; Dr. Faker Muhammad Al-Gharaibeh, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Dr. Bushra Ahmed Al-Akayishi, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; and Dr. Mahmoud Jamal Abu Al-Majd, College of Business Administration, who were promoted to the degree of Professor. The promotions also included: Dr. Panagiotis Zervopoulos, College of Business Administration; Dr. Saleh Abudaboos, College of Engineering; Dr. Muhammad Ali Haidar, College of Pharmacy; Dr. Samina Qar Al-Ain, College of Business Administration; Dr. Muhammad Mamoun Al-Rashid Muhammad Anis Rahman, College of Engineering; Dr. Alaa Abdullah Maarouf Al-Taei, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Dr. Hassan Yasir Hassan Al-Nis, College of Pharmacy; Dr. Walaa Wahid Al-Din Al-Kalash, College of Business Administration; Dr. Naveed Ahmed, College of Computing and Informatics; Dr. Amima Muhammad Abu Al-Khair, College of Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences; Dr. Muhammad Zubair, College of Engineering; Dr. Muhammad Morsi Abdo Muhammad, College of Law; and Dr. Muhammad Talal Bani, College of Computing and Informatics, who were promoted to the rank of Associate Professor.
