Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi Attends the Graduation Ceremony for University of Sharjah’s Fall 2024 Cohort (Male Students)

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah presided over the graduation ceremony for the Fall 2024 cohort of bachelor’s degree students on Saturday morning. The event, held in the University City Hall, celebrated the achievements of 472 males graduates from various colleges. 

The ceremony began with a rendition of the UAE National Anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran. Professor Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, delivered a speech expressing gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for his patronage and presence at the event. He congratulated the graduates and their families, emphasizing that the ceremony marked the culmination of years of dedication and perseverance and the commencement of a new chapter in the students’ professional lives.

In his address, Professor Al Naimiy highlighted the University’s commitment to educating and training students across diverse disciplines. He stated, “Your association with the University of Sharjah, this renowned academic institution, is a source of pride. The degree you have earned from this global university, celebrated for its achievements and excellence, is your springboard to becoming pioneers in your respective fields and contributors to the development of your nations. Your university has equipped you with the skills and competencies necessary to meet the demands of the job market and excel in life, whether you are engineers, legal professionals, or specialists in other fields of knowledge."

Concluding his remarks, Professor Al Naimiy reminded the graduates that this milestone is not merely the end of their educational journey but the start of a new one, filled with aspirations and opportunities. He acknowledged the unwavering support of the graduates’ parents throughout their academic life, offering heartfelt congratulations to the graduates and wishing them success in serving their communities and nations. 

During the graduation ceremony, Mohammed Abdullah Al Shammari, a graduate from the College of Engineering and the graduate representative, delivered a heartfelt speech on behalf of his peers. He began by expressing gratitude, stating, "On this special day, as we celebrate the fruits of years of effort and dedication, we must first thank Allah Almighty for the blessing of knowledge and guidance that illuminated our path and brought us to this blessed moment. I stand before you at this event, which symbolizes both the end of one journey and the beginning of another."

Al Shammari extended profound appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, noting, “His Highness’s name is forever intertwined with the University. His Highness is the embodiment of generosity and wise leadership. He laid the foundations of education and culture in the Emirate of Sharjah. His efforts in establishing and continuously supporting this esteemed university reflect his visionary commitment to raising generations equipped with knowledge and values."

Al Shammari also acknowledged the University’s faculty and staff, emphasizing their pivotal role, "Our University has been more than a place of learning; it has been a home that nurtured us, shaped our characters, and prepared us to face future challenges. Thanks to our esteemed professors, who spared no effort in sharing their knowledge and guidance, and to the dedicated staff who ensured we received all the support we needed every step of the way. The University’s adoption of innovation and modern educational tools equipped us to compete effectively in life and work."

Al Shammari highlighted the unwavering support of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah, whose vision, and guidance have consistently advanced the University’s academic mission. He also thanked the Chancellor, the Board of Trustees, and the University's administrative and academic staff for their open-door policies and commitment to fostering an ideal learning environment. 

Reflecting on the role of parents, Al Shammari remarked, "To our parents, who have been our constant source of strength, we owe so much. Their prayers and limitless support have been our source of strength during this journey." 

He concluded by encouraging his fellow graduates, saying, "Let us be ambassadors of the University of Sharjah always exhibiting the skills and values it has instilled in us. Never set boundaries for your dreams; believe in your abilities and efforts to make a difference. I wish you all success in your future endeavors." 

Following the graduate representative’s speech, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi presented degrees to graduates of bachelor programs in business administration, communication, arts, humanities and social sciences, computing and informatics, public policy, sharia and Islamic studies, sciences, fine arts and design, law, and engineering. His Highness congratulated the graduates and wished them success in their professional and personal journeys.
