Sharjah Department of Government Relations Signs MoU with University of Sharjah
The Sharjah Department of Government Relations (DGR) and the University of Sharjah (UoS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with the aim of exchanging knowledge, expertise, and establishing a long-term partnership that contributes to achieving sustainable development, serving the community, and fostering cooperation in various fields.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Executive Chairman of the Department of Government Relations in Sharjah, and on behalf of the University by its Chancellor His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, in the presence of Sheikh Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of the Department of Government Relations, Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, and Mr. Majid Mohamed Al Jarwan, Vice Chancellor for Public Relation, at the University’s headquarter.
The MoU stipulate that the collaboration between DGR and UoS will focus on exchanging knowledge and expertise in fields of mutual interest for both parties, and on developing a joint strategic plan. Additionally, it aims to enhance cooperation opportunities with academic institutions, centers, and research institutions from various countries in the field of higher education and research by involving the University in international visits of the DGR to countries for cooperation with the delegations representing the Government of Sharjah.
The department will facilitate the procedures for signing international cooperation agreements between the UoS and global organizations, companies, and institutions in the field of higher education and scientific research.The two sides will also collaborate in organizing international conferences and scientific forums according to the best global practices in several fields, in addition to providing field training for students of the International Relations Department at the University of Sharjah by involving them in the work processes, projects, and various initiatives of the DGR.
