Dr. Mohamed Hassan Taha

Assistant Professor of Medical Education at the Medical Education Centre and College of Medicine University of Sharjah.

With over 15 years of experience in Medical/Health Professions Education and educational research. He is currently the director of the Medical Education Centre and the coordinator of the Master of Leadership in Health Professions Education at the University of Sharjah, as well as the chair of the College of Medicine's curriculum committee. Before joining university of Sharjah, he served as the head Of Faculty Development Unit at college of Medicine, University of Qassim, Saudi Arabia, and director of Medical Education Unit, at Public Health Institute and Academy of Health Sciences in Sudan.

He also act as member several international organizations of The Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) and The Network: Towards Unity for Health TUFH and he serves as a consultant for various undergraduate and postgraduate medical curricula in the region Eastern Mediterranean region (EMRO region).

Dr. Mohammad H. Taha has authored numerous articles on curriculum development, social accountability, online learning, students and residents learning environment, and residency training, and he is working as editorial board member in several medical educational journals.

 

Ms. Aricia De Kempeneer

Vice-chairperson


Aricia is the Operations and Programming Director for The Network: TUFH. She is responsible for managing the annual conferences, virtual regional conferences, TUFH Symposiums and Workshops, TUFH Academies, ISAT, iSTEP, Digital Aspects, Social Media, Communications and Membership. In addition, Aricia is the liaison to the Student Network Organization Aricia holds a Masters in Health Education and Promotion from Ghent University and a Bachelor in Midwifery from Erasmus Hogeschool.

She works as an independent midwife in Belgium and gives prenatal lessons, prenatal care, and postnatal follow-up. Prior to The Network: TUFH Aricia worked as a midwife in Gambia, Finland, United Kingdom, and Belgium in low-risk birthing units. She co-founded and was the first president of the Student Network Organization in 2015. She has been attending TUFH annual conferences since 2012.

 

Ms. Fatima A. Hassan Sajwani

Director of Conferences Office - University of Sharjah


Since the establishment in 2014, the conference office was supervising and following up the Major University activities in a sound professional manner that ensures their implementation with professionalism and high quality that befits the University's Reputation. The office is the bright front of the university, which overlooks the community, where major conferences and seminars are held in addition to various other tasks aimed at contributing to the development and diversity of activities, making the Conference Office a professional cultural center of the University. There are many objectives of the Office, including holding university activities at a level befitting the university's reputation and status, developing the skills of organizing, managing and evaluating conferences to ensure their success in achieving their desired goals, supporting the continuity of organizing conferences at the university and continuing their stay with relevant authorities inside and outside, as well as deepening the university's relationship with society through various activities held at the university that attract scientists, researchers, and intellectuals. The Office carries out various major activities such as international, regional and local conferences, conferences organized in cooperation with universities cooperating with the University of Sharjah, conferences with government and private entities, as well as scientific, cultural and social seminars, and

 

Dr. Nadia Farahat

Director of Marketing and Student Recruitment - University of Sharjah


Multi-lingual technology management professional and university Lecturer 23+ years of experience in leading culturally diverse teams to successful project management implementations in results oriented, highly competitive, multi-national cutting-edge environments such as Middle east Airlines, Arab and North African Airlines, American university of Beirut & the University of Sharjah, As the Director of Marketing and student recruitment Department. She has a special interest and proven track record in promoting industry and academic partnering through formal internship, mentoring and continuing education programs as well as promoting Innovation and entrepreneurship and engaging UoS students in dynamic, forward thinking business environments. And assisting prospective students in choosing a major that matches their interests and skills and encourage them to engage in the University's collective global education, made possible through its international collaborations, internships, and training opportunities.

 

Dr. Anissa M. Bettayeb

Head of Academic Computing Section - University of Sharjah


Dr. Anissa Bettayeb is an educational leader who is working at University of Sharjah as Head of Academic Computing section for over 18 years of experience in educational digital transformation. She led the technical distant learning experience at University of Sharjah during COVID19 pandemic rolling out several distant learning technologies and tools. She has a long experience in managing digital transformation of information systems by demonstrated the ability in managing complex projects including implementing technological tools and releasing inhouse developed applications. She obtained her PhD in 2022 from the British university in Dubai in Management field and published her research findings in well-known Q1 and Q2 journals and presented it in various national and international conferences.

 

Ms. Eman Mashaqi

Vice chancellor for medical and health sciences colleges


Ms. Eman Mashaqi is an accountant at university of Sharjah with 8+ years of experience in financial analysis and generate timely financial reports, involved with all day-to-day accounting and administrative operations, with functional responsibility for accounting activities, including accounts receivable and accounts payable. Managing all finance and accounting operations Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget. Eman Mashaqi is responsible to provide key financial analyses and recommendations, support the continuous improvement of finance and administrative processes in her department. Qualifications: DBA, MBA, VAT Diploma

 

Mr. Khalid Al Raboy

Director of Public Relations - Univesity of Sharjah


Khalid Al Raboy is the Director of the Public Relations Department, at the University of Sharjah, since November 2003, leading multiple portfolios including events, customer service, exhibitions, and the protocol section. And he holds a master's degree in arts in applied sociology from the University of Sharjah.

 

Dr. Hiba Jawdat Barqawi

Lecturer in the Department of Clinical Sciences at the College of Medicine in the University of Sharjah


Dr. Hiba is responsible for coordinating a number of courses and supervises numerous undergraduate student projects. She is also a member of many of the College Committees, Co- Chair of the Student Welfare Committee and the Editor-in-Chief of the College of Medicine Newsletter. Hiba attained her MPharm (Hons) degree at the University of Bath and then went on to pursue postgraduate studies in Infectious Disease Epidemiology at Imperial College, University of London. She also worked at St. Mary's Hospital Campus (Imperial College) for several years as a researcher studying the evolution and epidemiology of MRSA.

 

Eng. Alain Eid

Associate Member Organizing Committee


Alain Eid is the Director of the Facilities Management & Planning Department, at the University of Sharjah, since November 2020, leading multiple portfolios including Facilities Management, Capital Projects Management, Energy & Water Resources Management and Sustainability, and Environmental, Health & Safety Management. He carries along well-rounded 360 degrees facilities development experience in master-planning, planning, design, construction, activation, and operation and maintenance, having grown through leadership roles over 17 years at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. Alain is a transformational leader who enjoys empowering as many as 60 direct and indirect reports, encourages openness and fosters trust among his team members and colleagues. He earned a Master degree in Engineering/Industrial Management from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the same university.

 

 

Dr. Mohamed El Hassan Abdalla EL Sayed

Chairperson, Group on Social Accountability, Association of Medical Education in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (AMEEMR)

Graduated with an MB.BS from Faculty of Medicine, University of Gezira, Sudan and then got a master's and PhD degrees in Health Professions Education. He is a fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators, UK. He has work experience in Medical Education in Sudan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Ireland with contribution to the Medical Education in other different countries.
Dr Mohamed Elhassan has memberships and affiliations to regional and international organizations work in Health Professions Education such as the Network-TUFH, International Reference Group on Social Accountability of Medical Schools, Association of Medical Education in the Eastern Mediterranean Region and the Society of Cost and Value in Health Professions Education.
Dr Moahmed Elhassan's publications and research interests in Medical Education are in the areas of social accountability, Teaching and learning, Accreditation and Cost and Value.

 

Ms. Ala Khalid

A medical graduate from University of Gezira, Sudan


Ms. Ala has been a loyal member of SNO since 2018, last year she was working as acting president for SNO local chapter at her institution and also as international Mentorship coordinator. She's passionate about Global Health issues, Gender Equity, and Interprofessional Education. Ala enjoys cooking, gardening and photography, she is aspiring to become a global surgeon and a researcher

I am Razia Sader Khail, holding a bachelor's degree in business management. I currently work as an administrative assistant to the Vice Chancellor of Medical and Health Sciences Colleges. I possess strong organizational and management abilities, specializing in event coordination, student assistance, and various administrative responsibilities, including new college initiatives and program development. In TUFH2023, my role involves overseeing the coordination of tasks between the Organizing Committee, TUFH, and the University of Sharjah side.
