Why Nursing?
The College of Health Sciences' Department of Nursing offers three programs: a Master of Science in Adult Critical Care Nursing, a bridging/post-diploma BSN for registered nurses with a diploma, and a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) for recent high school graduates. The bachelor's degree prepares nurses for a variety of environments, including clinics, schools, hospitals, and communities, by fusing theory with practice. The lack of nurses in the UAE and throughout the world has created a wealth of career prospects. In order to prepare students for doctorate studies, the master's program focuses on advanced clinical practices and research abilities for adult critical care. The department, which was founded in 1999, is a leader in nursing education, with a growing student body and a strong curriculum taught by staff members with international recognition.
Leading positions within EHS, DHA, and SEHA are currently held by our alumni. Maternal and child health, pediatrics, heart care, health promotion, mental health, mentoring, and simulation are among the areas of competence covered by the faculty. The field of pediatrics, obstetrics, psychiatry, medical-surgical units, neurosurgical units, critical care, dialysis, school health, cardiac catheterization, operating rooms, and primary health clinics provide good career opportunities for BSN graduates. The master's degree expands adult critical care employment prospects in the UAE medical field.
