​The American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is a professional association based in USA. Founded in 1922, the ASCP provides programs in education, certification and advocacy on behalf of patients, pathologists and lab professionals. The ASCP-Board of Certification (BOC) is the first and largest credentialing agency. It began certifying laboratory personnel in 1928 and has certified more than 600,000 medical laboratory professionals around the world. The UoS-MLS department has ongoing collaboration and our BSc degree is recognized by the society, so that our students do not have to go through equivalency to set for the ASCPi exam.
