“Anticipation" is the theme for the 39th Annual Exhibition of the Emirates Fine Arts Society, inaugurated by Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi, and held at the Sharjah Art Museum. Among the 55 artists exhibiting their works were CFAD Faculty Dr. Karima Al-shomely (Assistant Professor in Fine Arts) and Mr. Ahmad Manar Laham (Lecturer in Visual Communication). They were joined by fine art students Mariam Alkhoori, Haya Hosnia, Divyaaunshi Purohit, Fatima Omar, Rawan Mohi, and Sara Nezar who exhibited studio projects in ceramics, painting and printmaking. The President of the Society's Board of Directors, Dr. Mohammed Yousef (Assistant Professor in Fine Arts), also invited the Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, Professor Hamid M. Al Naimiy, and led a special tour for His Excellency to meet with few artists and students. Dr. Yousef emphasized the importance of nurturing young talent and providing the right venues for the future artists to engage with the professionals.
