Sharjah Performing Arts Academy (SPAA) approached CFAD with the request to design a logo for the Sharjah World Stage Design 2025. It would be traveling from Toronto to Sharjah, the first time that the event takes place in an Arab country. The charge was to ensure that the design “explore(s) our next heritage whilst celebrating our past.” It also should pay homage to sustainability and the local environment.  The reveal took place at the OISTAT 2023 gathering in Prague, Czech Republic. Winners included Merna Hafez (First Place), Hessa Alzarooni (2nd Place), and Alya Almheiri (3rd Place). The winning logo substituted the Latin letters WDS with Arabic diacritics, and represented the Sharjah desert and water using gold and light blue.
