Ras Al Khaimah Art Festival
Installed in Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village among the ruins of a pearling village, “The Unrevealed” won first place among 150 artists in the Fine Arts category at the Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival 2024, one of the largest outdoor art exhibitions in the region! Haya Hosnia’s winning entry was a project submitted as part of the Painting III Studio requirements, supervised by renowned artist and Fine Arts tutor, Thaier Helal. The oil on canvas painting, measuring 400cmX150cm, is a towering work revealing the everyday lives of Palestinians. The artwork brought the topic to light and the message was spread among the Festival’s visitors. Hosnia incorporated Palestinian embroidery designs reflecting “… a strong sense of pride and connection between each and every victim and their beloved country Palestine.” Festival curator Alfio Tomassini’s intent was to have the built fabric allow “… visitors traverse storied pathways, encountering captivating installations by local and international artists that harmonize with this year’s Festival theme: In Motion.”
