Dr. Iman Ibrahim won the “Future Pioneer Award” from Bee’ah for the innovative project “Eco-Mesh the Parametric Panel”. Held under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the award sets a “new international benchmark for sustainability innovation”. The award-winning panel is inspired by Islamic geometry patterns with a close resemblance to the 3D muqarnas. The traditional function of facades and interior dividers is rethought considering this revolutionary product's innovative combination of form and function with an environmental conscience. This panel, adopts parametric design, 3D printing technology, and repurposed materials made out of recycled plastic and wood fibers, to achieve a balance between the ancient and the contemporary. The project goes beyond recycling plastic to create new transformative changes.
