Cross-Disciplinary Team Wins the Design Project
A University of Sharjah cross-disciplinary team competed against national universities to claim the opportunity to design the interiors for the new Esaad Headquarter, Dubai. Students from the College of Fine Arts and Design and the College of Computing and Informatics developed a comprehensive design based on analyzing Esaad’s eight sectors engaging human psychology analysis in the interior environment, upgrading the eight categories’ icon design and branding, developing functional QR codes, and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) within the interiors. The project was led by Ms. Asil Albaghdadi (Lecturer in Interior Design), and included Moufida Mohideen and Munira Almazroua (Interior Design), Hessa Alzarooni and Rawdha Almuhairi (Visual Communication), and Yahia Ashour (Computer Science). The team presented their winning project to CFAD’s faculty and staff as part of the monthly “Food for the Senses” research café organized by the College. Students commented on the valuable experience gained through interacting with an actual client on a real project and collaborating with peers from other programs to create a unique customized design.
