In the presence of His Excellency Professor Hamid Majoul Al Naimi, Director of the University of Sharjah, the first doctoral thesis of the Doctor of Business Administration program in the College of Business Administration, specializing in finance, was discussed. The thesis, titled "Determinants of Bank Stock Returns in the Middle East and North Africa," was presented by the student Syed Faisal Shah under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Al Bayti, Head of the Finance and Economics Department.

The thesis aims to study the relationship between investor sentiment and its impact on the performance and returns of bank stocks, as well as to examine the effect of governance indicators on bank stock returns in both Middle Eastern and North African countries and Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
