Dr. Nadjib Benkheira Participation in an International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences
Professor Dr. Mesut Idriz, faculty member of the Department of History and Islamic Civilization, CoAHSS, and Director of the Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim Sciences (SIFHAMS), was invited to deliver a keynote lecture at the International Conference with the theme on “What is Civilization? Envisioning the Future of Humanity” in Kathmandu, Nepal, held on October 4-6, 2024, which was organized by The Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences, the University of Hong Kong, in collaboration with Asian Institute for Advanced Research, Kathmandu, Nepal; Centre for Studies in Science and Humanities, Beijing Normal University, China; Center on Modernity in Transition, USA; and sponsored by the Institute for Global Civilization. In this globally significant conference, there were highly distinguished scholars from all around the world. The title of Professor Mesut Idriz’s presentation was “Nexus of Islamic Civilization: Change, Development and Progress as Constituent Elements in Correlation between the Concepts of Dīn and Madaniyyah”
