Why Jurisprudence and Its Foundations?

The Department of Islamic Jurisprudence and its Fundamentals at the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, University of Sharjah, is dedicated to fostering an Islamic identity based on a comprehensive understanding of Islam as revealed in the Sunna and the Holy Quran. Our esteemed faculty are committed to equipping students with essential knowledge, enabling them to master the science of Sharia while navigating contemporary challenges. We strive to ensure that graduates are well-prepared to address the issues facing the Muslim community and to lead confidently toward a brighter future. Our program focuses on providing graduates with the knowledge and scientific skills necessary to guide others on the righteous path.

To fulfill this objective, the department is steadfast in its commitment to raising intellectual and educational standards for both teachers and students. It also consistently works to improve its administrative procedures to facilitate the professional growth of staff members. Our graduates are prepared for a wide range of careers, including teaching in postsecondary educational institutions, serving as imams in mosques, delivering public speeches and religious sermons, participating in the legal system and judiciary, working in Islamic banking and media, and holding positions in the Department of Islamic Affairs and Endowment. This is all made possible by our extensive curriculum and unwavering dedication to excellence.
