On April 23, 2024, the Forum for Intellectual Security in Islam at the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at the University of Sharjah hosted a scientific lecture titled "The Danger of Extremism in Intellectual Security," which was delivered by Sheikh Dr. Saud bin Mallouh Al-Anzi, an Associate Professor in the Department of Islamic Studies and supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit at Northern Border University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The speaker emphasized that Islam has many excellent values, among them moderation and balance, as Islam is a religion that promotes harmony and peaceful coexistence between people. Islamic law has issued a strong warning regarding the peril of fanaticism and its detrimental effects on both individuals and societies. In numerous hadiths, the Prophet Muhammad SAW issued a Strong warning against extremism. The Prophet (SAW) emphasized the need to exercisemoderation and refrainfrom exaggeratingin religion. Therefore, we must understand that extremism is a transgression of the Shari'ah boundaries and a violation of its true objectives which include equality, justice, and tolerance.

The speaker emphasized the undeniable impact of extremism on religious and intellectual security, highlighting how it paves the way for fanaticism and division, ultimately fragmenting society. Hence, we must all work together to confront this phenomenon with all our determination and strength while adhering to the principles of justice, equality, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence between people of different cultures and religions - which are truly the foundation of our culture and religion. At the end of the lecture, Dr. Saud emphasized the importance of establishing the concepts of moderation and tolerance. He also emphasized the need to educate people about extremism and its dangerous consequences and work hard to create interconnected societies that enjoy peace, security, and peaceful coexistence under the auspices of our true religion—which is the religion of peace, tolerance, and justice.
