Cohesion Between Leader And His Citizens: A Path To Achieving Intellectual Security
- TheCohesion between the leader and his citizens is one of the greatest means for achieving intellectual security. The power of the country lies in the cohesion of its nation. All the types of security can be attained through thecohesion between the leader and his citizens. Unity of the nation is ordained by the Almighty Allah, as He says: “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided" (Qur'an, 3:103).
- Islam fundamentally calls for unity and solidarity and forbids division and disunity. The Islamic legal texts stipulate a firm cohesion between the leader and his citizens. They ascertain that the connection between the rulers and the ruled is governed by brotherly relations and mutual mercy and affection; as just like one body, when one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever. The Prophet (SAW) said: “The best of your rulers are those whom you love and who love you, who invoke God's blessings upon you and you invoke His blessings upon them."(Sahih Muslim)
- The late Sheikh Zayed (may Allah rest his soul in mercy) and the founding fathers have introduced a unique and remarkable example for the cohesion and love between the leaders and his citizen which have yielded security, stability and prosperity.
