In this project we will introduce some interesting concepts of matrix analysis and their applications in differential equations. First, we introduce some basic definitions, theorems, and results of matrix theory. Then we discuss the spectral theorem for normal matrices and its consequences. Finally, we present three ways to compute the exponential matrix and its applications in linear system of differential equations with constant coefficient.
