Why International Relations?

The Department of International Relations at UoS offers an interdisciplinary major focusing on the dynamics between states and non-state entities such as corporations, banks, and non-governmental organizations. Students explore these interactions across various contexts, including technology, culture, and ideology. The program bridges theory and practice through international field visits and on-campus lectures with UN representatives and diplomats. Since its inception in 2012/2013, enrollment has surged from 11 to over 400 students by 2019/2020. The department now also offers a master's degree in international relations and a bachelor's degree in political science. Graduates find opportunities in media, NGOs, government agencies, and diplomatic missions
