The objective of this study is to conduct an advanced laboratory experimental program to assess the laboratory performance for asphalt concrete (AC) mixture modified with recycled waste plastic. The experimental program is intended to use the most current laboratory tests adopted by the pavement community. The laboratory performance of plastic-modified AC mixtures will be evaluated and tested using the most advanced characterization testing methods. The results will be compared to corresponding control AC mixture. This research project is considered as a continuation of ongoing research projects between the Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure (MOEI) and University of Sharjah (UoS) to design and construct new generation of roadways that are more sustainable and resilience in the UAE.
