Discover Orthodontics Pediatric and Community Dentistry
Our faculty’s commitment to the College of Dental Medicine and the University of Sharjah’s mission is evident through their efforts in teaching, research, clinical services, and outreach, all aimed at improving oral health in Sharjah and beyond. The department provides students with opportunities to meet the oral health needs of children and adolescents, as well as to offer dental care to underserved communities through comprehensive didactic, pre-clinical, and clinical training in pediatric dentistry and orthodontics.
Our Community Dentistry program equips students to critically analyze literature, understand disease prevention, health promotion strategies, and epidemiology, and to design, implement, manage, and evaluate public health research and initiatives to improve population health.
Additionally, we offer a three-year postgraduate program in orthodontics that culminates in a master's degree, training graduates to critically assess scientific advancements and apply them to enhance patients' quality of life through clinical care and preventive strategies. The department is dedicated to addressing dental health needs across all age groups, from infants to adults, with a focus on leadership and excellence in clinical and preventive care.
We maintain a strong commitment to community engagement and research, particularly in improving oral health among underserved populations, including preschool and school-age children in Sharjah and beyond. Our community-based education efforts also emphasize oral health promotion, evidence-based dentistry, professionalism, and ethics, ensuring our graduates are well-prepared to make a positive impact.
