Why Information Systems?

The Department of Information Systems at the University of Sharjah’s College of Computing and Informatics offers a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems. This program integrate information technology with business management, equipping students for careers in project management, database development, business analysis, information systems analysis, and website development. Students in the Information Systems program gain essential theoretical and practical skills to assess, design, implement, and manage IT systems in a business environment. Our curriculum is continuously updated to reflect the latest developments in technology and industry, ensuring a practical, market-aligned education.

To effectively bridge the communication gap between business needs and technology, BIS professionals are trained to be agile thinkers, effective communicators, and skilled problem solvers. Graduates find career opportunities across various sectors, including banking, finance, real estate, healthcare, aviation, education, and the petroleum industry. To further enhance their professional credentials, students can pursue optional certifications in business intelligence, CRM with Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle and Microsoft database management, CISCO business networking, Microsoft Project Management, and PMI-certified business intelligence.
