Human Hand Gestures Controlled Robotic Arm

Workplace injuries affect millions of employees worldwide each year, with work-related musculoskeletal disorders being a common concern due to frequent lifting of heavy objects or performing repetitive forceful tasks. To address this issue, robotic arms can function as assistants in shared workplaces, reducing manual handling and improving the ergonomics of manual tasks, thus minimizing the need for humans to work in hazardous environments.

The hand gesture-controlled robotic arm project involves the development of a robotic arm that can be controlled using human hand gestures. Through computer vision via a camera, the robotic arm mimics the motion of a human hand. Workers demonstrate hand gestures to the camera, which sends the data to a processing unit. The processing unit detects hand gestures and converts them into commands transmitted to the control unit on the receiver side. The robotic arm then replicates the detected hand gestures
