Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi Awarded the Golden Honor Medal from the European Royal Academy in Spain

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah, has been awarded the prestigious Golden Honor Medal by the European Royal Academy in Spain. The accolade recognizes his exceptional leadership in higher education and his significant philanthropic contributions that have advanced education and scientific research.

The Golden Honor Medal is the highest distinction granted by the academy, which was established in 1914 under the auspices of the King of Spain. Over its history, only four distinguished leaders have received this honor, including Dr. Rosalía Arteaga, former President of Ecuador (2016), Dr. Luis Alberto Lacalle, former President of Uruguay (2017), and Dilma Rousseff, former President of Brazil (2018).

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi was selected for this honor due to his remarkable achievements in steering the University of Sharjah toward global prominence. Under his leadership, the university has solidified its position as a center of knowledge and innovation in the region. His philanthropic initiatives have also created diverse educational and research opportunities, empowering students, and scholars to excel.
