COMMUNITY DENTAL SERVICE

Community Outreach

Through the platform of Mobile Dental Clinic, we initiated a robust community outreach program, offering free preventive and restorative care that addresses the needs of the community. The College of Dental Medicine provides community service that promotes optimal oral health and enhances the quality of life.

Applying the University of Sharjah's mission of community service, the College of Dental Medicine serves as a role model for future dentists through a variety of outreach programs that provides dental care and preventive education to underserved populations.

Our College provides free high-quality dental care to patients in the Sharjah Community and surrounding areas who otherwise cannot afford or access needed dental treatments.

School Oral Health Program

For the last eight years, the College provided comprehensive oral health services for approximately 100 children every year. This School Oral Health Program includes classroom education, dental screenings, preventive dental care, such as sealant and fluoride varnish applications, as well as restorative dental care for elementary school children in Sharjah.

Special Need Dentistry

Our commitment to the community includes providing dental health care to special needs patients, who may find it difficult to receive appropriate dental care in private clinics. Our undergraduate students and interns receive adequate hands-on supervised experience and training in the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective dental treatment to special needs patients. Our goal is to graduate students who are capable and prepared to provide dental care for this segment of the community, thus increasing the number of dentists who can provide quality oral health care for special needs patients.
