Degree Overview
The Bachelor of Science degree program in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics (CND) is a full-time four-year comprehensive degree program comprising of 134 credit hours from courses offered at the university, college and department levels. The allocation of the credit hours is shown in the following table:
What You Will Learn
This program graduates qualified clinical dietitians and nutritionists who play a pivotal role in healthcare delivery. The program delivers education across various aspects of life, health, and social sciences essential for understanding food, nutrition, and their interplay with health.
Graduates from the program will have the ability to educate patients, design appropriate nutrition care plans, and deliver medical nutritional therapy. They develop strategies for optimizing nutrition in both individual and community health contexts, adapting to changing lifestyles, and addressing contemporary health crises.
Upon program completion, graduates find successful employment as dietitians, nutritionists, researchers, and educators. They can pursue careers in diverse sectors such as hospitals, schools, health centers, primary healthcare departments, and related sectors.
University Requirements
Every student is required to take 24 credit hours of general education courses distributed over seven domains. Fifteen (15) mandatory credit hours are selected from domains 1, 2, 3 and 4 and (9) elective credit hours selected from domains 5, 6 and 7 as indicated in the University section (General Education).
