Degree Overview
The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence Program (MSCAI) aims to offer the graduate student foundational and advanced knowledge in the topics related to Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The program is intended to accept incoming students from varied computing related undergraduate programs. Keeping in mind that incoming students may not have foundational knowledge, the program offers the needed background in the required remedial courses before embarking on advanced topics in the electives.
The program is offered in a one-track mode, which is thesis-based. The program requires completion of a substantial research component culminated with a formal thesis (equivalent to 9 credit hours of course work). The program has a compulsory component that ensures a common knowledge base for all students. The compulsory courses were selected to match the minimum compulsory knowledge that every student needs. Then an appropriate group of elective courses were selected to offer students variety of depth topics for specialization.
What You Will Learn
The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence Program (MSCAI) aims to offer graduate students foundational and advanced knowledge in the topics related to Artificial Intelligence (AI). It will also give you a state-of-the-art understanding of AI, and highly practical skills and expertise in the construction of AI systems, including those that integrate multiple modalities. This will give you the creativity to develop AI solutions to real-world problems, as well as softer employability skills such as being able to communicate complex, technical information to non-technical stakeholders, collaboration teamwork, and presentation skills. This will give you the confidence and knowledge to pursue a role in industry or the public sector, where you may help to build, specify, recommend, and critique AI systems, creating a range of career opportunities such as: AI (Software) Engineer Machine Learning Engineer Business Intelligence Developer Data Engineer AI Researcher Data Scientist Computational Statistician User Experience Specialist
