The University of Khorfakkan (UKF) is a not-for-profit institution for higher education established in 2022 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University. The University is an autonomous, academic corporate body enjoying financial and administrative autonomy owned by the government of Sharjah. The University enjoys a State-of-the-Art infrastructure for teaching, research, innovation, and community service. 

In addition to the currently offered programs in the branch, the University of Khorfakkan is planning to offer new programs in the marine sciences and ocean engineering fields. In addition, UoK will establish a new college named "College of "Marine Sciences and Aquatic Biology". It is planned that this college will represent a national hub for issues related to marine sciences and Aquatic Biology, such as coastal zone management, marine engineering, fisheries, aquaculture, etc.

The university aspires to be a beacon of knowledge through its various programs and highly qualified and experienced faculty.  The university also aims to expand its programs to meet the growing demands of the society in the near future.
