QUWA Grants

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies in cooperation with the Research Outreach Department at the University of Sharjah is pleased to announce the categories of research grants for the Best Research Proposal" submitted to the “Fifth Forum for Women in Research" titled “QUWA: Together Innovating to Shape the Future". The grant categories tackle the recent most significant topics and top research challenges in different fields.

Emirates Global Aluminium Grant (20,000 AED)

Several grants (each 10,000 AED)



Emirates Global Aluminium Special Track
  • Exploring innovative tools to detect the anode spike and current distribution by voltage measurement in anodes of aluminum reduction pot
  • Developing an automated solution for measuring freeze profile and cathode erosion in EGA’s aluminum reduction pot
  • Conversion of pure bath into useful products
  • Smart solution/methodology to check the underground (buried service) pipelines thickness/integrity for distillate / gas /water / compressed air



4 Grants (each 20,000 AED)


The winning research projects will be selected based on the following:

  • Scientific rigor
  • Community Impact
  • Novelty
  • Industry Partnership

 

Terms and Conditions

  • The research work should not be published till the time of the Forum.
  • The prize should be spent on the research project (e.g., conference expenses, publication fees, project resources, software, etc.).
  • The prize winner should acknowledge the sponsor in her publication.
  • The applicant should submit ONLY ONE research study as the principal investigator (PI).
  • The main applicant (PI)  should be a female researcher in a University (Faculty Member, Postdoctoral Fellow, Graduate Student; MSc/ PhD, or Research Assistant)
  • The PI must be a female researcher; the research team may include male collaborators/researchers.
