Degree Overview
The Fine Arts Program (FA) emphasizes dynamic approaches to studio practice, preparing students to become innovative artists and professionals in the contemporary fine arts industry. The program fosters a distinctive, experiential learning process that provides solid knowledge, skills, and proficiencies in core fine arts disciplines. The curriculum focuses on four parallel studio concentration: Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and Sculpture. These are supported by a series of art history, theory and criticism courses throughout the program allowing for integration of regional and global perspectives in the studio curricula.
What You Will Learn
Fine Arts graduates shall:
Engage in individual creative studio practice, knowledge of history of art and design with an awareness of the cultural issues and contexts of local and global contemporary art.
Apply technical mastery to produce artwork within a context of research and intellectual pursuit applying various artistic media.
Utilize appropriate digital technology to produce, exhibit and manage artwork and collections.
Be able to think and apply independent learning skills and practices relevant to interdisciplinary research and studio practice, promoting critical thinking that encompasses cross-disciplinary concepts and cultural understanding.
Practice with confidence and self-direction, in a diverse work environment, problem solving, and professional attitudes guided by the profession’s ethical standards and valid judgement.
