Under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UoS), and coinciding with the UoS’s silver jubilee celebrations, the UoS is preparing to launch the “9th Emirati German Congress of Medicine and Dental Medicine “, on the 21th and 22nd of November at the Medicine and Health Sciences Complex, UoS, organized by the College of Medicine and the College of Dental Medicine. The conference will be broadcasted through scientific platforms, in collaboration with University of Lübeck, Academic Reinbek's Hospital at the University of Hamburg in Germany, Sharjah Health City and Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.

This was announced by Prof. Qutayba Hamid, Vice Chancellor for Medical Colleges and Health Sciences, Dean of College of Medicine and Chairman of the Conference’s Scientific Committee, who stressed the importance of hosting scientific conferences in cooperation with international institutes, with the aim of exchanging knowledge and expertise between scholars, researchers and specialists in various fields. He added that the UoS has been hosting this conference since nine years, and this year it will discuss topics on the basic medical sciences, clinical medical sciences and dental medicine.He added that the conference will host distinguished experts and speakers from various leading institutes from Germany and the United Arab Emirates in the fields of medicine and dentistry over two days, in which a group of eminent scholars, researchers and doctors specialized in healthcare will present their innovative work and scientific research across a wide range of medical disciplines, pointing that the conference will provide an excellent opportunity to promote medical knowledge and network the world-renowned scientists to achieve effective partnership in the field of professional medical education and training.

Prof. Qutayba stressed that this year’s conference features showcasing the most important issues within the medical and health fields, alongside modern practices, techniques, equipment and advanced therapeutical methods in the field of medicine and dentistry, pointing out that the conference will include a variety of lectures, discussion forums, practical and theoretical workshops on the best practices in treating different cancers, their causes, diagnostic modalities and prevention through early detection of common cancers, treatment strategies, surveillance, palliative care, and research on common cancers to identify, prioritize, and address major cancers with a substantial burden on healthcare systems, as well as establish and strengthen networks between those working in all stages of the cancer continuum in the MENA region and the European perspectives.
