The University of Sharjah’s College of Business Administration Welcomes its New Students
In the presence of His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, the College of Business Administration at the University organized a virtual orientation meeting for new students enrolled in graduate programs the DBA, MBA and EMBA. Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, attended the meeting along with Prof. Raafat El-Awady, Dean of the College of Graduate Studies; Prof. Dima Rachid Jamali, Dean of the College of Business Administration; Dr. Amina Al-Marzouqi, Acting Dean of the College of Health Sciences; Prof. Hussein Al Tamimi, Director of the Graduate Programs at the College of Business Administration; as well as faculty members and graduate students at the College.
At the beginning of the meeting, the University Chancellor welcomed the new students and researchers, congratulating them on enrolling in graduate studies at the University, as the University of Sharjah attaches great importance to scientific research, as it is now become one of the top universities in the United Arab Emirates, and leading in sustainability programs, according to many international classifications. The Chancellor emphasized that the University in accordance with its current strategy, and with the support and directives of its President His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, aims to become one of the top research universities in the region. His Excellency the University Chancellor also praised the new administration of the College, stressing the University of Sharjah's keenness to select the best academic and scientific expertise at the global level to work at the University, praising the development witnessed by the College of Business Administration over the past years, especially in graduate studies programs.
For his part, Prof. Maammar Bettayeb provided many advice to MBA, EMBA and DBA students at the College of Business Administration, including the need to benefit from the scientific and research experiences of the faculty members in the College, and joining the research teams and choosing the topic of research, with emphasis on the importance of dealing with one of the issues or topics that serve or interest the local community, and work to publish their scientific research in internationally classified and accredited international journals.
Prof. Raafat El-Awady also stressed the importance of graduate students' commitment to communicate continuously with the College's administration and to be aware of the latest developments with regard to regulations and rules regarding graduate studies, and to attend workshops that will be organized during the academic year, which will be announced via e-mails and on the University's website. .
In her speech, Prof. Dima Rachid Jamali welcomed the attendees and praised the efforts made by the administration of graduate studies programs and faculty members of the College, as this meeting aims to identify the challenges that students face during the current stage, and the suggestions submitted by them to enhance the educational process, believing that the dialogue between students and concerned persons contribute positively to moving forward in the College's process and to reach its highest levels.
For his part, Prof. Hussein Al-Tamimi, Director of the Graduate Programs at the College (DBA, MBA, EMBA), gave an introductory presentation in which he clarified the scientific curriculum of each program, schedules and conditions, and the general rules for admission and study, teaching hours and proposed examination dates for each program, stressing that the College administration is always working to communicate with students and listen to them and work to provide an appropriate educational environment for them.
