SAASST Hosts Annual Alumni Gathering for College of Computing and Informatics

The University of Sharjah (UoS) Alumni Association organized its annual gathering for graduates of the College of Computing and Informatics, hosted by the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST). The event featured several discussion and dialogue sessions, highlighting the activities, events, and opportunities provided by the Alumni Association to its members.

The gathering began with a speech by Dr. Salah Taher Al-Haj, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, who welcomed the attendees, including faculty members and alumni. He highlighted the Alumni Association's ongoing efforts to build bridges of communication with partners across various fields.

For his part, Prof. Abbes Amira, Dean of the College of Computing and Informatics, provided an overview of the college and its new academic programs. He emphasized the importance of communication and collaboration with alumni to exchange experiences and knowledge with students and faculty members. The programming team, consisting of Dina Haji and Mahmoud Madi, also presented the new online portal for the Alumni Association, highlighting the new services that will be launched soon.

Dr. Amal Al-Ali, Director of the Alumni Association Office, highlighted the various services provided by the association. The event also included a training workshop led by Dr. David Carter, Director of the Office of Strategic Planning, along with Dr. Samar Mouakket and Dr. Iman Akour. The workshop focused on addressing organizational challenges faced by companies through interactive games, offering solutions and recommendations for these issues. Several department heads and faculty members from the college participated in the event.
